| In this two-day, hands-on workshop, geared towards intermediate and advanced students, we investigate the form of the teapot. We will begin by investigating the history of this relatively new form (the oldest teapot has been dated to about 500 years ago), and how it has become both a functional and expressive staple of the ceramic world. Demons of the basic techniques for throwing and constructing a teapot, lid, handle and spout will be shown, leading the students to express themselves through this fascinating and rich form. |
