Artwork Jurying: Sunday, September 21, 9:00am
Please check-in to install your artwork at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center Auditorium at 9am. The doors will close promptly at 10:00am and jurying will begin. Artists may not be present during jury process.

Jury Process
  • You will have approximately 4-5 feet of wall/table space to display your work. Please be flexible and accept the limits of our space. You may wish to bring 1-2 extra works to increase your installation options.
  • Please bring artwork executed within the last 2 years.
  • Jurying is by actual work only. (Slides, photographs or video tapes will only be accepted if your work is extremely large (over 5' wide) - then you may bring in 1original work and 4 slides or photographs.)
  • Please bring your own tools and be prepared to hang your work. A committee member will show you where you are to hang or display your artwork.
  • Please pick-up your artwork at 12:30 pm the same day. Artwork left in the Auditorium after that time is no longer Silvermine's responsibility.
  • To reflect the professional standards of the Silvermine Guild of Artists, two-dimensional wall-hung works should be framed, unless an alternative framing technique is an integral part of the artwork.
  • Pedestals will not be available; there will be tables to place 3-Demensional objects on. You may bring your own display system (boxes, pedestals, etc…)
  • Artwork must be delivered and picked up in person on Guild Artist jurying day, Sunday, September 21, 2008. Mail delivery/pick up (such as UPS) of artwork is not allowed.
  • Artists may apply for membership only once within a 12 month period (either in the fall or the spring).  To enter your artwork into Silvermine Guild means you understand and will comply with the above rules on jury day. It also means that you understand and accept the benefits and responsibilities of being a Guild Artist, should you be accepted into the Guild.

Criteria That May Be Used For Jurying
  1. Overall creativity
  2. Uniqueness or timeliness
  3. Excellence of technique, mastery of methods and materials
  4. Emotionally evocative or intellectually provocative
  5. Compelling notion or idea
  6. Cultural or social relevance
  7. Professional presentation of work
  8. Clarity and continuity of style
  9. Professional accomplishment as seen through resume, statement, artwork, etc.
