Internships
Silvermine Guild Arts Center offers a variety of internships for scholastic credit and/or professional development. Internships are generally unpaid, but provide opportunities to network with regional artists and art professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience. An internship mentor will help tailor the internship to suit specific interests. Some perks include free application to SGAC juried art competitions, free attendance at artist lectures, art symposium, concerts, receptions & more… Volunteer Opportunities
Become a volunteer and contribute to Silvermine Guild Art Center's success. Volunteers engage in a variety of tasks from providing administrative assistance to installing exhibitions, from helping to organize fundraisers to promoting Silvermine events to the community. Summer Intern Opportunities SGAC has two college level intern opportunities available in the Galleries and one in the Marketing/Development area of SGAC. The three positions are available for the summer 2008. The Galleries intern positions are structured to be 10 -15 hours per week over the course of the summer. Interns will work with the Gallery staff to mount exhibitions, provide day-to-day gallery assistance and work on at least one project. Candidates should be knowledge with Word, Excel and Photoshop, be energetic and responsible. Candidates should email a cover letter, resume and 3 refereneces to: Gallery jeffreymueller[at]silvermineart.org. The deadline for submissions is May 19, 2008. The Marketing/Development position is for a college level student who is interested in arts administration and/or marketing and PR. The intern position will work with staff over the summer on a project focusing on SGAC’s marketing and PR strategy. Much of the work is project based so hours and days of the week are flexible. The intern should expect to devote 10-15 hours per week on the projects. Candidates need to be knowledgeable in Word, Excel, and basic statistical analysis.
