Richard Ford Award, to make copies of Velasquez paintings in The Prado, Spain.
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award for figurative painters.

Specialized in portraits of comedians, exhibiting 12 paintings of famous sitters in 2004, Riverside Studios, London, UK.
Work in collections in UK, USA, Spain, France and Abu Dhabi.

I see painting portraits as a bit like creating a short film on canvas. The painter is distilling expressions from the sitter over a space of time but these are contained in one still image. I think a portrait works best when you feel the sitter’s thoughts are unfolding in front of you, replaying moments of themselves in time.
