We are thrilled to be partnering with the Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield.
In this first project with the Audubon Society, students from the Thomas Hooker School in Bridgeport were treated to a special week of illustrating animals native to Connecticut. After a field trip to the Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield , students worked with Lizzy Rockwell to create wonderful renditions of amphibians, birds and animals. As a renowned author and illustrator, Lizzy shared a number of her books with the class and taught specific methods of illustration to the 4th graders who were all very eager to learn. The resulting artwork was outstanding!
Art Partners programs encourage students to work at their own pace while completing projects. All are allowed time to explore and realize the meditative qualities of art. Social and emotional learning techniques and visual thinking strategies remain a focus of all our programming.
