As part of Silvermine’s 90th anniversary celebration, the historical exhibition “Silvermine, Milestone Graphics and the Connecticut Print Renaissance, 1979-1989” highlights a selection of prints from a moment in time when Guild members began to print locally in Fairfield County at Milestone Graphics. Milestone Graphics, the oldest fine art printmaking workshop in Connecticut, owned by James Reed, was at the time the only local printmaking studio available to area artists. On view will be a selection of prints by Guild Artist members, both past and present, including such artists as Ann Chernow, Alberta Cifolelli, Margaret McKinnickinnick, Jack O’Hara, Bernard Riley, Barbara Rothenberg, Lucy Sallick and Harvey Weiss. This exhibition has being organized with the help and consultation of James Reed, master print maker and Silvermine Guild member.
