Ceramics at Andrew’s Hall –
Artist Application

Our application is designed to help us understand each artist’s experience, working style, and technical background so we can maintain a safe and supportive shared studio. Experience with every aspect of ceramics, including kiln operation, is not required for acceptance.

We encourage artists with a strong foundation in their practice, a thoughtful approach to their work, and a willingness to learn studio procedures to apply. Orientation and training will be provided where additional support is needed.

Orientation & Kiln Access

All accepted applicants will participate in a required orientation covering shared studio standards, safety practices, daily operations, and firing procedures. Artists who wish to use the kilns independently will receive guidance and a basic skills review to ensure safe operation. If additional support is needed, training sessions may be recommended before independent kiln use is approved.

3. Studio Use & Availability

Please help us understand how and when you anticipate using the studio so we can determine the best fit for your schedule and workspace needs.

5. Collaboration & Community

Our shared studio thrives when members contribute to a clean, welcoming, and respectful environment. Members are expected to care for both personal and shared spaces by cleaning tools, wiping tables and surfaces, mopping floors regularly, and helping maintain equipment. In addition, all members are expected to take part in a monthly volunteer studio clean-up to help ensure that the shared workspace remains orderly, functional, and welcoming for everyone.
